Activities of Educational Enrichment

Weekly Research Seminar Series

As described earlier, the Center will utilize the weekly Urology research seminar series as a platform for IR-BU research meetings. This well established seminar, supported by the Urology Department, occurs every Monday morning with 20-35 participants. The environment of the seminar is highly interactive, providing an opportunity for speakers to get feedback from their colleagues. This dialogue helps to address research difficulties and generates new ideas and directions as the meeting participants come from different backgrounds. Speakers often are external and include many of the leaders in urological research.  The Center will expand this seminar series in two ways: Center members, many of whom already attend this seminar, will be required to regularly present their data; and a greater number of outside investigators who study BPH and LUTS, and will be invited to speak. The Educational Enrichment Committee has the responsibility of identifying external speakers in the BPH/LUTS field and coordinating with the Urology Department to help organize their visits. More >

Bi-monthly Journal Club

Urological Research holds a journal club every-other-week. Members of the IR-BU Center, many of whom already participate in this journal club, are encouraged to attend and present papers related to BPH and LUTS. This will enable Center members to keep abreast of the current BPH and LUTS literature More >
