Graduate Student Outreach

Many of the University of Pittsburgh graduate students begin their graduate careers in interdisciplinary programs that allow them to choose their area of study after the first year. First year graduate students take a foundations class that covers a broad range of topics in biology. The chairmen from the different departments present a short overview of the research in their departments as a way to attract graduate students. The Center would request from the course director the opportunity for Dr. Wang or Dr. DeFranco to present an overview of the IR-BU Center. As a result of this outreach, we hope that students, particularly women and minorities, will consider studying BPH and LUTS. More >
